Some people actually have these things with them, probably passed on to generations as a family heirloom and are at some point either donated to some museum or sold at an auction.
On the other hand there are also those who want to order replicas of particular models of civil war swords. These are relatively easier to get because many sword makers know how to forge these swords the same way they were made back in the civil war days. Some swords can be ordered as for display only while others are forged sharpened and battle ready, depending on what the buyer wants.
