- Stainless Steel Swords - Does it Need Care?
-
Most Wall hanger swords are made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is the combination of Carbon steel, nickel and chromium. The combination of these materials in various quantities can result in a wide range of stainless steels. The result is a hard and durable alloy.
One of the advantage of Stainless steel is that the combination of theses materials transforms iron into a much less reactive metal. If you are a sword collector, you already know that stainless steel is a very common material that is frequently used in the high cutlery today.
Most swords that are sold on the market are made of 420 or 440 stainless steel. Most people think that this type of allow is invulnerable to corrosion. The truth is that no metal is invulnerable, stainless steel simply take more time than carbon steel to show the evidence of corrosion.
So although it is true that stainless steel swords requires much less maintenance than carbon steel swords, you still need to take good care of them in order to keep them in good shape.
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that stainless steel swords even though some are sharpened, are not considered functional swords. They cannot be used in combat or cutting exercises.

- Are You a Medieval Armor Collector?
-
Even went into a house that had a full suit of armor displayed in the living room or somewhere at the hallway? You will notice how displaying armor is actually a good way to make your house look good. And this is ideal for those who live in houses that have an old style design. But even if you don’t you can also make use of a suit of armor if you’re an avid collector of items that came from the medieval times.
In fact, medieval armors are a good alternative to expanding your collection of replicas of things from the medieval times. You don’t have to limit yourself to collecting those famous swords and limited edition rapiers (but of course, they will make fine additions to your collections as well, so don’t miss out on them), but rather you can also consider getting medieval armor replicas as well.
We all know what these armors were used for during the old days. Armor was meant to protect the wearer from serious harm during the old days. Armor was much needed by warriors and members of the military because the weapons that were used in battle were too dangerous and deadly to ward off with one’s own hands. When these warriors were in the heat of battle, it would be difficult to watch out for anyone who would try to hit you, so wearing armor will keep them protected even if their opponents managed to hit them in the armored spot. Of course the armor doesn’t make the wearer invincible, but it does help them from getting seriously hurt or even killed in battle while they fight.
But collectors like you don’t have to worry about having to wear these things for your protection. What’s important is that medieval armors have lots of historical and artistic value and expanding your medieval items collection to armors and helms will always be a great idea. Investing in integrating medieval armors into your collection of medieval themed items will always be worth it. Getting this level of variety in your collection is an indication that you are a serious collector for the medieval times.

- Samurai Swords - A Category You Need to Look Into!
-
Samurai Swords are indeed an interesting category to look at. One of the unique things about the Samurai Swords as a category of collectible swords is that, like the Japanese sword, they are also bought for purposes of practice. That is why when people buy Samurai swords, they usually make sure that the specs are of the same size and shape as their traditional versions. Some people even want to make sure that they’re getting the real thing by buying only from manufacturers that use traditional sword forging techniques. But some of these buyers prefer the swords with a tinge of modernization as well for better durability and design.
One such popular Samurai sword maker is Paul Chen. Currently known as one of the best sword makers in the industry, especially for Japanese type swords, Paul Chen came a long way from his dream of getting into a career of sword making. He started his interest in swords as early as eight years old, taking interest in his grandfather’s sword collection. He then went on to study and learn from both Japanese and Chinese experts and he finally designed lots of amazing Japanese style and Samurai Swords.
Among the great designs of Paul Chen include the Bamboo Stick Katana, which was based on the innovation of the Samurai Sword after they have been banned by the government from being produced and even possessed. They used the simple bamboo stick appearance to conceal the blades while they were carried around by those who opposed the rule against the possession of these swords. Paul Chen makes them with such accuracy making them look like the ones that were originally created during those times when Samurai Swords were still illegal.
Paul Chen also makes themed Samurai swords like the Bushido Series, which all feature powdered steel blades and distinct designs on the handles and hand guards for every type of katana in that series.
But there are other great manufacturers of Samurai Swords as well, so don’t forget to look into them too. You will definitely find a good addition to your collection in this class of swords.

- Lord of the Rings Swords - Popular Movie Swords
-
One of the most popular classes of movie swords that ever went into the industry is the Lord of the Rings Swords. These are the swords that were made after the actual props that were used in the hit movie the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which was adapted from the novel written by R.R. Tolkien. The weapons were forged the same way the props were, and some of them were even enhanced to make the sword look more presentable and durable to any collector who might be interested in them.
One such popular prop that many of the LOTR fans went after were the Legolas Fighting Knives. The name of the sword alone already points out why the swords were very popular, as they were wielded by Legolas, the elven warrior who aided Aragorn and Frodo fight the dark forces of Sauron and finally destroy the Ring.
Because he is an elf, most of the viewers of the movie would initially see Legolas as a natural archer – someone who is skilled with the bow and arrow. But the epic trilogy will show that Legolas was also skilled in close combat, being able to fight fiercely with the Legolas Fighting Knives. There are lots of scenes in the movie that Legolas would be seen fighting alongside his allies in close combat with the Legolas Fighting Knives rather than taking his bow and arrow and targeting them from a distance. Being a representative of the elves, Legolas’ participation in battle showed viewers how elves were very versatile in battle, being able to fight efficiently using both close and long range weapons.
Aside from the fact that the Fighting Knives are very sturdy, they are also well forged aesthetically. The handles sport a vine-like design carved upon it to match the nature of the elves in the movie.
The Legolas Fighting Knives are a very unique addition to any sword collection. This holds true especially for those who are collecting as fans of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. They also come with a certificate of authenticity to display along with the knives themselves.
Some of the other high popular Lord of the Rings Weapons available for collectibles are the Anduril sword, the High Elven Warrior Sword, the Sword of the Witchking and more.
